What Pride, Juneteenth, and the World Cup Have in Common

June 2026 Newsletter

Hey Reader

June is packed with celebrations, milestones, and moments that capture our attention.

From Pride Month and Juneteenth to the FIFA World Cup, millions of people will spend June celebrating, learning, watching, and engaging with causes and events they care about.

While these events are very different, they all share one thing in common:

Visibility.

People can't participate in, support, or advocate for something they don't know exists.

The same is true for nonprofits.

One of the biggest fundraising challenges many organizations face isn't a lack of worthy programs, it's a lack of visibility. Before someone donates, they need to know who you are, understand what you do, and believe your work matters.

That's where marketing comes in.

Marketing helps your organization build awareness, tell its story, and stay top-of-mind long before a donation ask is ever made. When marketing and fundraising work together, nonprofits are better positioned to attract donors, deepen relationships, and increase giving.

Our latest article, Marketing + Fundraising: Why Nonprofits Need Both to Grow, explores how these two functions can work hand-in-hand to strengthen your organization's impact. The article also includes a practical checklist you can use to assess how well your marketing and fundraising efforts are aligned.

September 2026 Newsletter Hey Reader We’re officially in the dog days of summer. Beach trips are winding down. The last few BBQs are making their way onto the calendar. Vacations are wrapping up. And hopefully, you’ve had at least a little time to unplug, recharge, and enjoy everything summer has to offer. But as much as I hate to be the person who brings up December while it’s still 90 degrees outside (at least here in DC)…it’s time to start thinking about your year-end fundraising campaign....

October 2025 Newsletter Hey Reader October is here—pumpkin spice everything, cooler air (finally), and… nonprofit revenue strategy. Okay, maybe that last one isn’t trending on Instagram, but according to a recent study of nonprofit leaders, the real fall priorities are clear: major gifts top the list, with diversifying revenue streams close behind. If those are on your to-do list too, this month’s newsletter has you covered. First up: Major gifts. One of the smartest ways to grow them is...

August 2025 Newsletter Hey Reader August is that sneaky month where summer’s still here, but you can just feel fall creeping around the corner. Vacations are wrapping up, school buses are making their annual comeback, and suddenly, pumpkin-spiced everything is creeping into the grocery stores. It’s a good reminder that in the nonprofit world, just like in life, staying top of mind is everything. Think about it, relationships aren’t built on one grand gesture. You wouldn’t text a friend only...
